JUPB1 en route to Clarence

Pushed along by KV Johnson’s tug Taurus, the project’s diving and laboratory platform for the next month, Fitzgerald Constructions’ JUPB1, left Victoria Dock bound for the Clarence site early this morning.

JUPB1 leaves the Yarra River and enters Port Phillip Bay at 8:15am

Heritage Victoria’s boat Trim with a small team (Peter Harvey, Mike Nash, James Parkinson, Sven Bartels and Mark Staniforth) on board was on site from 1pm diving and placing the buoys to guide the barge into place. The barge arrived on site early in the afternoon, and was jacked up on its spuds (legs) at 3.20pm. Thanks to the guys from K.V Johnson and Fitzgerald Constructions for their great efforts on the day.
